You need to eat



I'm a newcomer to the Scotland, I was eager to try those foods that I had only heard of and haggis was certainly one of them. A bit apprehensive at first, I dove in and gave it a go! It is AMAZING! I just love the stuff. It's meaty and hearty. And, as most things in Scotland, a popular way to eat it is deep fried. So easy to make and satifying with a lovely spicy mayo.

Here's what you'll need

For the chicken

  • 1 package haggis (about 400g)
  • 1 cup Corn Flakes
  • 1 eggs (whisked)
  • ¼ cup flour (more or less)
  • ½ cup mayo
  • 1 tbsp sambal oleek
  • salt and pepper to taste
    1. roll haggis into roughly golf ball size

    2. in a pestle and mortar, crush the Corn Flakes, but not to a complete dust, you want some to be a bit bigger to make sure you get the best crunch

    4. dredge the haggis balls in the flour, then the egg and then in the Corn Flakes


    6. toss into a preheated °350 deep fryer until crisp and golden (about 3 minutes)

    7. season them with salt as soon as they come out

    8. in the meantime, whisk together the mayo and sambal oleek

    9. serve the balls while still hot with the dipping sauce
