FIG & BRIE STUFFED PASTRY

FIG & BRIE STUFFED PASTRY

Imagine a cheese board baked inside flaky puff pastry...that is exactly what this is. Fruit and cheese are a perfect match and I love how oozy and gooey brie gets when baked. Serve this up with a lightly dressed green salad for a light lunch or starter, or make them smaller for an easy make-ahead appetizer for any occasion.

Here's what you'll need

  • 1 package rolled out puff pastry
  • 1 egg (beaten with a splash of milk for glazing)
  • 1 round of brie
  • 4 figs
  • balsamic glaze to drizzle
  • salt and pepper
  1. cut the pastry into 4 and brush on the egg wash around the edges

  2. slice brie and lay down on one end of the pastry (to allow the fold over) without going to edges

  3. add sliced figs and season lightly

  4. fold the pastry over and press the edges to seal

  5. FIG & BRIE STUFFED PASTRY

  6. brush the top with more eggwash

  7. toss into a preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes or until puffed up and golden

  8. FIG & BRIE STUFFED PASTRY

  9. allow to cool for a minute or two and cut (optional) on an angle and drizzle with balsamic glaze
