Fish Pie

FISH PIE

There is something comforting about things baked with mashed potatoes. Everything about this dish says I love you. Here in Britain, you can buy packages with three kinds of fish in them specifically for fish pies, but if you don't live in the UK, just get three fillets, or just use one kind of fish.

Here's what you'll need

  • 1 pound mixed seafood (salmon, cod and smoked cod)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup peas (frozen or fresh)
  • ¼ cup leeks (finely sliced)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • salt & pepper to taste
Here's how:
  1. sautee leeks, peas and garlic in butter until soft and transulcent

  2. sprinkle in the flour and cook another few minutes

  3. add the milk and stir until nice and thick

  4. take off the heat and carefully stir in the seafood and parsley

  6. pour the mixture into an oven proof dish and top with mashed potatoes

  8. bake in a preheated °350 oven for 45 minutes or until the top is nice and golden brown and bubbly
